nice package

Just found this while rummaging through an old bag. Although it's
not, it does look a little vintage. Regardless, still a beaut!

slap tagging

Found an instant sticker maker this week at the supply shop from
Xyron. You just put whatever you want in the machine and viola it
attaches an adhesive back to it. Made all these 1" franklinHEAVY
stickers; perfect for envelopes or even an odd slap tag around the city.

momma's day

© All rights reserved. Karri North Photography.

In lieu of mother's day, we couldn't resist paying hommage to
the talents of one mother I very much admire. Good friend
and photographer Karri North, of Karri North Photography,
specializes in journalistic style wedding photography.

Karri also does portraiture; and has followed—photographically
—many of her wedding clients through pregnancy and motherhood.
My absolute favourite are Karri's portraits of children. A mother
of two (amazing) kids herself, I think, is the basis for the genuine
nuturing sensibility in her portraits.

type genius

This weekend was the opening of MyType: An exibit of limited
edition, new modernist posters designed by our extremely talented
graphic designer friend at typotherapy+design, Noël Nanton.

The show at Keep Six Contemporary Gallery for the
Festival of Architecture and Design featured new fonts designed
by typotherapy that explore the relationship between positive
and negative space.

Noel's inventive type designs and enviously precise poster layouts
left me inspired, and almost believing that I have the patience and
craftmanship to design my own type—achem...

black bags

Amy has mentioned a few times that "there are too many black bags,
everybody has a black bag". I admit that I am a lover of black bags;
however I decided to make an attempt at getting a bag that was not
black. This is what I got. Oh... and I bought a grey bag as well. It's a
bit of trying to teach an old dog new tricks. I found some other cool
variations on a black bag on etsy.

1. frame pouch, jlife 2. black & gold leather clutch, delacy online
3. vintage 80's eelskin purse, lovedovevintage
4. the striped wood clutch, redrubyrose

frosting addicts

One can often find us drooling over graphic patterned or textured paper.
One of our favourite places to go is the paper place, but with all the
scrapbooking going on, it's not hard to find great stuff. We got our idea
for one of our more recent projects during our last paper expedition.
Patterned cut & paste paper cupcakes became the visual language for
our clients brand.

nyood

Amy hasn't been able to stop talking about this new tapas restaurant
that just opened up in the west end, Nyood—pronounced "Nude".
We had to go and check it out—for business of course, and our great
friend and photographer Alexandra Sawka took some gorgeous photos
for our project.

setting the tone

Our first entry. Reminds us a bit of a paint by numbers. I took this photo in
the lecture hall at an art gallery in Rotterdam.
