drawing music
I'm finding this so mesmorizing. Reminds me of our grade school music
classes... but it would have been way more fun to do it outside. You can
see more of Fabiana Cruz fascinating work on her site.

to the letter
New favourite blog. Letterheady showcases old letterhead.
I'd love to get my hands on some of these.

hot docs 2010

Hats off to the 2010 Hot Docs Documentary Film Festival. After
finishing all the festival graphics and collateral we had the good fortune
to participate. Attended some conference sessions, social events and
got to see plenty of docs. A few of our favourites this year: The World
According to Ion B., Marwencol, Secrets of the Tribe, all compelling
stories. We are working on getting some samples of all our work for
viewing as soon as possible.

speak with conviction
Great spoken word by Taylor Mali. The typographical treatment was done by a Ronnie Bruce for type class.

70 year-old Buddhist monk Hua Chi has been praying in the same
spot at his temple in Tongren, China for over 20 years. Now that's
one way to make your mark.

wonderland

Came across Yeondoo Jung's charming photos from the Wonderland
project. The collaborative effort brings to life the fantasy drawings of
kindergarten children in Seoul.

I ride heart

Did the ride for heart this weekend. 50k. Got to ride on the DVP.
Loved it. Thanks so much to all those who supported and sponsored
me. I'm hooked.

install art

Sweet installation at Rosa Mexicana in NYC paying hommage to
the cliff divers in Acapulco. Fond memories. The restaurant itself
is a great spot as well; if you're in the neighbourhood.

gift bag window

I picked up a souvenir postcard from the Dali exhibit at the MoMA. I'm
digging how it looks through the letter windows of the gallery gift bag. I
may quite possibly never take it out.

flux + form

Our good friend and jewellery designer Kim Drosdick has opened
a new boutique: flux + form. We absolutely love the natural shapes
and simple classic styles in both her metal and bead work. Also, if
you're in the market for an engagement or wedding ring, Kim makes
the most elegant and interesting ones I've seen. I've got my favourite
tucked away with her somewhere.

our decob

In June we participated in DECOB; a collective art show with the
intention of raising awareness for reducing our consumption of plastic
bags. Artists were asked to use their bag as a canvas to express
their thoughts on the subject. This was our submission: Confessions
of a recovering plastic bag-aholic. The show ran here from
June 26—July 13 but will exhibit as well in Tokyo, Osaka, Hong Kong,
London and New York. There is an online catalogue featuring the
work of all the other artists that participated in the show.

mouse type

There are those moments sometimes when you see something
someone else has done and it's sickeningly inspirational... I know
you know what I'm talking about. When you see something right
up your alley and you weren't the one that came up with it, and
it just drives you. This little mouse did it for us. A redesign for one
of Microsofts European creative awards.

Hello! You There!

{via create/reject }
Another brilliant idea spawning small changes throughout the
urban landscape. Create/Reject is the design and art direction of
James West; and Hello! You There! is a self initiated project that
allows Create/Reject to send out a piece of your constructive advice
anonymously via post in the hopes of inspiring change and perhaps
make things around here just a smidgen better.

the envelope please

{andrew bush via ali loves curtis}
We've been admiring this brilliant collection of envelopes
put together by Andrew Bush. We just love envelopes—the
front, the back, the flaps—it's too bad that emails don't come
in an envelope. Andrew has some other assorted collections
as well; a definite must look.
